5 STEPS TO OPTIMIZE YOUR SOCIAL MEDIA

Auditing your social media presence is essential for artists and arts organizations to ensure that your online presence is consistent, secure, and optimal functioning of your social pages.

 

Here’s a 5-step process to guide you through the audit:

 

1.  Assessment of all platforms

  • Review the inventory of all your platforms and organize them by streamlining the logins, passwords and other security access information such as special questions etc. (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, Threads, Twitter)

  • If you have personal profile and business pages, ensure they are linked to your primary login account.

  • If you have multiple accounts / pages, review and delete the unused ones.

  • Review account activity on each platform and how active you are.

 

2.  Review Consistency Across Platforms

  • Ensure your profile names, bios, profile pictures, and cover photos are consistent across all platforms.

  • Connect your Facebook & Instagram pages for seamless integration.

 

3.  Security and Connection Audit

  • Ensure that two-factor authentication  is enabled for all your social accounts.

  • Check your privacy settings on each platform to ensure that your content is visible to your intended audience, whether that's the public, followers, or a more restricted group.

  • Check other profiles who have access to your pages and ensure they are people in your team/network.

 

4.  Evaluate Advertising and Promotions

  • Review your advertising account through your Business Manager both on Facebook & Instagram for appropriate permissions and access

  • Review payment methods that are connected and validity of the same


 5.  Tone & Branding

  • Review your visual and content tone for consistency – the colour palettes, imagery, your voice and language

  • Assess content—videos, images, reels, text posts, stories, etc. Ensure you're leveraging different content formats to engage your audience effectively.

  • Evaluate Emerging Platforms that could benefit your brand. If they align with your goals, plan to create a presence there or strengthen your existing one.
